We are lonesome animals. We spend all our life trying to be less lonesome. One of our ancient methods is to tell a story begging the listener to say — and to feel — “Yes, that’s the way it is, or at least that’s the way I feel it. You’re not as alone as you thought.”

About Carole’s Writing

As well as the novel, Carole’s writing interests include poetry; creative nonfiction—including the personal essay and memoir; the short story; the picture book; and reviewing. That said, she has a broad knowledge of a range of writing genres which she enjoys working across in her writing classes. 

Carole’s two children’s novels, Dog Gone and In the Dark are available in any good book shop. Email her if you can’t find them.
